Luca Stolz put Toksport WRT on top in Pre-Qualifying at Brands Hatch as Mercedes-AMG continued to set the pace at the British circuit.
The German driver posted a 1m24.918s at the wheel of the #6 machine, shading the #90 Madpanda Motorsport car by just 0.021s around the 3.9km Grand Prix loop. Rik Breukers was second quickest, topping the Silver Cup order and continuing the form that carried the Spanish squad to a dominant class triumph at the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa.
Lamborghini spoiled the Mercedes-AMG dominance as Ricardo Feller went third fastest, recording a 1m24.953s in the #14 he shares with Alex Fontana. After finishing one-two in this morning's Free Practice, AKKA ASP was fourth and fifth with its #88 and #87 Mercedes-AMGs.
A trio of Audi crews occupied positions six through eight. The #31 Team WRT machine was the best of them, followed by the #25 Saintéloc Racing entry and Attempto Racing with its #66 crew.
The Pro-Am championship-leading #20 SPS Automotive Performance Mercedes-AMG was 14th overall and comfortably clear of its nearest class rival. Dominik Baumann set the time in the car he shares with Valentin Pierburg. As such, Mercedes-AMG ended Pre-Qualifying on top in all three categories.
The session ended five minutes early after the Sky Tempesta Racing Ferrari spun into the gravel with Giorgio Roda at the wheel. The car stopped short of making contact with the barriers, but there was not sufficient time to safely remove the stranded 488 GT3 before the clock reached zero.
Qualifying for both of this weekend's races will get underway at 15:15 BST. All of the action will be streamed live on GT World YouTube channel and across Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS platforms.
